Soft patterns inspired by quiet beauty, poetic places, and a love for the handmade.

My name is Rosalie Sterenborg, and I’m the designer behind The Rosenborg Company — a creative studio rooted in nature, nostalgia, and the quiet elegance of everyday life — based in the Netherlands.

I’m a mom of two, and learning to navigate both the fast and slow moments of life. In my spare time, I started sketching — mostly charcoal portraits, for my family. Over time, I kept drawing and exploring different materials, and that’s how I discovered surface pattern design. Everything I enjoyed came together: drawing, painting, creating something from scratch and… where my love for shape, texture, and color all come to life.

One of the places that inspires me is France — a country I hold close to my heart. Palais Royal (Paris), with its arcades, iron fences and quiet gravel paths, is a place I return to again and again, everytime I visit Paris. Its quiet charm and beauty perfectly reflect the kind of design I try to create: timeless, softly and elegant. Also the French countryside — places like Normandy and Provence — are a big source of inspiration for me.

Outside of visual art, music is an important part of my creative life — especially classical music. I’m fascinated by how dissonance can draw us in, adding tension and texture, while consonance brings resolution and peace. I see design the same way: the beauty lives in the contrast. A pattern becomes meaningful when it’s not just perfect, — but layered, soulful, and sincere.

Through hand-drawn lines and watercolor washes, I create designs that feel familiar, a little nostalgic, and always made with care.

Thank you for being here — I’m so glad we’ve found each other.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_button button_url=”https://therosenborgcompany.com/contact” button_text=”Contact me” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”2fedb6f5-f651-40ee-be83-3e3546d0015b” button_text_color=”#556008″ locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_button][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.25.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_image src=”https://therosenborgcompany.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/IMG_0212-kopie-scaled.jpg” title_text=”IMG_0212 kopie” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” custom_margin=”-200px|||-25%|false|false” custom_margin_tablet=”0px|||-25%|false|false” custom_margin_phone=”0px|||-25%|false|false” custom_margin_last_edited=”on|phone” animation_style=”fade” animation_duration=”500ms” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_image][et_pb_heading title=”%22I design for the quiet moments — the ones that feel like home.%22″ _builder_version=”4.25.1″ _module_preset=”24f5ecbe-19aa-45d8-8b90-7b6f68b74b6a” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_heading][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ admin_label=”Footer” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” background_color=”#bdb493″ saved_tabs=”all” collapsed=”on” global_colors_info=”{%22gcid-096a3b95-3143-414b-96db-c5cca7103179%22:%91%22background_color%22%93}”][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_3,1_3,1_3″ _builder_version=”4.25.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”1_3″ _builder_version=”4.25.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_heading title=”Services” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”71a2b6dd-546f-4aa4-abf1-fbbeb811bdb3″ title_text_align=”center” title_text_color=”#FFFFFF” custom_margin=”||10px||false|false” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_heading][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”8ca1f6ee-e4bd-4c4b-afbd-9c14dc8fc190″ link_text_color=”#FFFFFF” text_orientation=”center” custom_margin=”||10px||false|false” link_option_url=”https://therosenborgcompany.com/contact” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{%22gcid-672c49ec-b8cc-4f22-a785-dec4ee1498c5%22:%91%22quote_text_color%22,%22quote_border_color%22%93}”]

Licensing

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”8ca1f6ee-e4bd-4c4b-afbd-9c14dc8fc190″ link_text_color=”#FFFFFF” text_orientation=”center” custom_margin=”||10px||false|false” link_option_url=”https://therosenborgcompany.com/contact/” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{%22gcid-672c49ec-b8cc-4f22-a785-dec4ee1498c5%22:%91%22quote_text_color%22,%22quote_border_color%22%93}”]

Custom Pattern Design

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”8ca1f6ee-e4bd-4c4b-afbd-9c14dc8fc190″ link_text_color=”#FFFFFF” text_orientation=”center” custom_margin=”||10px||false|false” link_option_url=”https://therosenborgcompany.com/contact” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{%22gcid-672c49ec-b8cc-4f22-a785-dec4ee1498c5%22:%91%22quote_text_color%22,%22quote_border_color%22%93}”]

Collaboration & Product Development

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_3″ _builder_version=”4.25.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_heading title=”E-mail” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”71a2b6dd-546f-4aa4-abf1-fbbeb811bdb3″ title_text_align=”center” title_text_color=”#FFFFFF” custom_margin=”||10px||false|false” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_heading][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”8ca1f6ee-e4bd-4c4b-afbd-9c14dc8fc190″ link_text_color=”#FFFFFF” text_orientation=”center” custom_margin=”||10px||false|false” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{%22gcid-672c49ec-b8cc-4f22-a785-dec4ee1498c5%22:%91%22quote_text_color%22,%22quote_border_color%22%93}”]
