What is licensing?

Art licensing is like renting artwork — for example, you might license one of my designs to use on a product you sell.

Licensing can be non exclusive or exclusive and is for a set time period.

Non-exclusive License

With a non-exclusive license, you can license my designs to be used on your own products. The same design may also be available to other companies in the same industry, and may be sold by me on platforms like Spoonflower.

All designs remain under my copyright.

If you’re selling items made from fabric printed with my designs and purchased through Spoonflower, no additional license is needed.

Exclusive License

For an exclusive license we will negotiate and agree on terms for the use of the design.

This license will be specific to your industry and territory. For example, if the license is for wallpaper in USA I could still license the same design for wallpaper in The Netherlands (different territory), or for a different category like fabric or stationery in USA.

I will retain the copyright and ownership of the design.

At the end of the agreed time period, you will have first right to renew the license. If you do not renew the license the rights return to me, the artist.

Can I request custom colors?

Absolutely — I can tailor colors to fit your project. Vector artwork can be modified to precise colors (including Pantone).

2. Personalized Guidance

I’ll guide you through the licensing process step by step, offering advice on design selection, color customization, and application to your products — ensuring the designs work perfectly for your project.

3. Try & Revise

Once a design is selected, you can test it on your product range. I offer revisions and tweaks — whether it’s adjusting colors, scale, or details — until the design feels just right for your collection.
